HONG KONG - After the first three games of qualifying, Team USA sits in sixth place in the five-player team event at the 2011 World Tenpin Bowling Association World Women's Championships.
The Americans fired a 3,338 total, including 1,185 in the final game, at Hong Kong Bowling City. Denmark leads with 3,419, while Singapore is second with 3,377.
The top four teams after six total qualifying games will advance to the semifinals. The final round of qualifying will take place on the Seoul (medium) lane condition Saturday and will be immediately followed by the medal round, which will be broadcast live on BOWL.com.
Shannon Pluhowsky led the Team USA effort with a 719 series and was followed by Liz Johnson (718), Kelly Kulick (664), Shannon O'Keefe (626) and Carolyn Dorin-Ballard (621).

In the all-events race, Denmark's Mai Ginge Jensen maintained her lead with 5,052, an average of 240.57, and Canada's Caroline Lagrange is second with 4,968.
