Team USA taking resumes for 2013 selections

ARLINGTON, Texas - The Team USA program is currently accepting bowling resumes from athletes eligible for selection onto Team USA for 2013.

The Team USA selection process remains the same as it has been in past years with all past Team USA members and certain professional bowlers eligible for selection. The players who have been selected will be announced immediately following the Team USA Trials in January live on BowlTV.

"The selection process will be based on the submitted resume as well as performances at the Team USA Trials," USBC Managing Director of National Governing Body Neil Stremmel said. "Heading into the WTBA World Championships for both men and women, this is a crucial time for Team USA to put together the best possible roster."

The players eligible for selection include Team USA members since from the past 10 years and exempt players on the 2011-12 Professional Bowlers Association Tour season.

The roster for Team USA in 2013 will include a minimum of 10 men and 10 women. The top three men and top three women at the Team USA Trials, which will be held at Sunset Station from Jan. 2-7 in Henderson, Nev., will earn automatic spots, while the National Selection Committee will also select a minimum of two additional men and two additional women exclusively from the field to join the team.

The remainder of the Team USA roster will be made up of selections by the National Selection Committee from those players who submitted resumes.
