Team USA women featured on Fox Sports Southwest

America’s pastime crossed paths with America’s team last night when the Team USA women appeared on Fox Sports Southwest at The Ballpark in Arlington in Arlington, Texas, where they watched the Texas Rangers trounce the Seattle Mariners 12-2.

The Team USA women are attending their first training camp at the new International training and Research Center in Arlington, where they practiced on a variety of international lane patterns to prepare for upcoming tournaments around the world.

Along with head coach Ross Ross and assistant coach Kim Terrell-Kearney, the team gathered behind home plate just before the game where they were introduced to an applauding crowd.

Team USA member Kelly Kulick, whose sensational string of victories includes titles at the 2010 PBA Tournament of Champions as well as the 2010 USBC Queens and U.S. Women’s Open, enjoyed an exclusive introduction.

“We all had a great time,” Kulick said of the team’s experience at the ballpark. “It was great to see things from the inside and being in the suite for the game was fun. It was a spectacular event.”

The team watched batting practice from the field and met Mariners’ second baseman Chone Figgins as well as the team’s athletic training staff.

With the score 8-2 in the fourth inning, Fox Sports Southwest cut away from a Mariners’ pitching change to speak with Kelly Kulick live as her 10 teammates surrounded her (video above).

Later this year, the Team USA women will compete in several events, including the Pan American Bowling Confederation Women’s Championships, which will be held Sept. 25-Oct. 2 in Las Vegas. Other events on the schedule include the QubicaAMF World Cup in Zagreb, Croatia, and the Lee Evans Tournament of the Americas in Orlando, Fla.
