Terry named USBC Managing Director of Marketing

ARLINGTON, Texas – Kevin Terry has been named Managing Director of Marketing and Membership for the United States Bowling Congress by USBC Executive Director Stu Upson. Terry brings extensive experience in marketing and sales from top-level professional sports organizations to USBC.

Terry most recently was president of the Winston-Salem Dash, an affiliate of Major League Baseball’s Chicago White Sox and operated by Mandalay Baseball Properties. Prior to his work with the Dash, Terry held sales or marketing positions at the vice president level with the New Orleans Hornets and Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association, as well as MLB’s Tampa Bay Rays.

“Kevin Terry comes to USBC with great experience creating marketing programs that generate clear and measurable growth,” Upson said. “He has a proven track record of sales turnarounds with multiple organizations.”

As president of the Winston-Salem Dash, Terry oversaw business operations related to the new $48 million BB&T Ballpark located in downtown Winston-Salem. Under his leadership the organization sold more than $2.5 million in new sponsorship partnerships and the second-largest stadium-naming-rights deal in minor league baseball history.

In his work with the Hornets, Terry directed ticket sales, services and operations overseeing the transition of departments through relocation from Oklahoma City back to New Orleans. With the Hornets, Rays and Warriors, Terry’s leadership helped achieve significant increases in ticket sales, customer service and revenue.

“Kevin brings a perspective from other sports on how to create a positive customer experience and solid operational processes,” Upson said. “He is an ideal leader for USBC’s objective to focus on customer service and growth.”

Terry will oversee marketing and sales, association development, youth development, membership development and customer service call center for USBC.

“As a lifelong bowling fan, having grown up in the Midwest learning the sport from my dad, I am excited to join the executive team at USBC,” Terry said. “I look forward to serving USBC members and working closely with industry partners and association leaders to enhance the marketing and customer service efforts of the organization.”

Terry attended the University of Kansas and holds a marketing degree from Emporia State University in Emporia, Kan. He started his education at Highland (Kan.) Community College, where he was awarded scholarships in both baseball and music. He is scheduled to begin his duties at USBC on Nov. 1.
