Trip winners announced in USBC Eagle’s Nest program

Eight team captains have been selected by the United States Bowling Congress to receive a free trip to the 2011 USBC Open Championships in Reno, Nev., as part of the USBC Eagle's Nest team captain incentive program.

The eight winners will receive round-trip airfare and three nights lodging compliments of the tournament host hotels Circus Circus, Eldorado Hotel Casino or Silver Legacy Resort Casino. The free trips are the first phase of giveaways for the 2011 event.

The eight winners are:

* William Hargraves, Kansas City, Kan.
* Charles Kennel, Oxford, Ohio
* Shelene Mitchell, West Valley, Utah
* Chris Nichols, Castle Rock, Colo.
* Ronald Ray, Mobile, Ala.
* Warren Ribbink, Muscatine, Iowa
* Danny Smith, Burlington, Iowa
* Robert Scantling, Wrightsville, Pa.

To be eligible for the USBC Eagle's Nest program, team captains had to compete in the 2010 Open Championships and reserve at least one team spot for the 2011 tournament by July 9, 2010.

The eight winners were randomly selected from the 8,177 Eagle's Nest team captain entrants.

"It's tremendous to see so many team captains excited about Reno in 2011 and taking part in the Eagle's Nest program," said Brian Lewis, Managing Director of USBC Tournaments. "Tournament team captains are among the most dedicated bowlers in the sport and our partners in Reno have stepped up to reward them through the Eagle's Nest program."

The giveaways will continue through the 2011 Open Championships. Other giveaways include four Chevy Silverado trucks or $17,000 cash option (one given away in March, April, May and June 2011, compliments of the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority), and Storm high-performance bowling balls (one given away each day of the 2011 tournament).

Eagle's Nest members that brought four or more teams to the 2010 Open Championships and do so again in 2011 are eligible for special offers from Reno hotel partners. Those special offers will be announced in the near future on BOWL.com and as part of the monthly online Eagle's Nest newsletter.
