Two new directors join USBC Board

ARLINGTON, Texas - Robert Spigner of Chicago and Erik Galganski of Orlando, Fla., have joined the United States Bowling Congress Board of Directors effective immediately.
Spigner was appointed by USBC President Andrew Cain to replace Bill Vint of East Troy, Wis., as a delegate representative. Galganski was selected by the USBC Youth Committee to replace Suzanne Huebel of Oscoda, Mich., as a youth committee representative. Vint and Huebel stepped down from the board for unrelated reasons last month.
"Robby Spigner and Erik Galganski will be terrific additions to the USBC Board of Directors," Cain said. "Erik brings several years of youth committee experience to the board while Robby brings a combination of high-level business experience along with an elite bowling background."
Spigner is an associate with AlixPartners LLP where he specializes in guiding corporate financial and operational turnarounds. He also has served in non-profit leadership roles for Chicago-based Ladder Up and the Lake County USBC association. Spigner graduated from Indiana University with a triple major in finance, computer information systems and business process management. He is a former Team USA member who competed regularly in PBA national and regional events. Spigner is the son of USBC Hall of Famer Bill Spigner.
"Bowling has provided me the ultimate platform to grow both as an athlete and a person," Spigner said. "It is important to me that future generations are afforded the same opportunities to experience the sport that has given so much to me and my family. I look forward to working with our great volunteers at all levels."
Galganski is a bowling industry marketing and sales specialist. He owns Pin Action Promotions - a marketing company specializing in bowling tournaments and event activation. Galganski joined the USBC Youth Committee in 2009 and was the 2007 USBC Youth Ambassador of the Year. He is a USBC certified coach who has served in an association leadership role at the state and local level.
"I am excited to begin serving on the USBC Board of Directors representing the youth bowlers of the country," Galganski said. "Creating opportunities for young bowlers is a passion for me personally and professionally and I will continue be a strong advocate for those who represent the future of our sport."
