USBC Youth watch international team win unique event

The opportunity to attend the finals at a PBA Tour event usually means watching five top players battle for a title.

But USBC Youth bowlers, as part of the PBA/USBC Insiders' Tour, were able to watch 12 of the top players in the world when the PBA World Series of Bowling ended with an event that featured a unique team format.

After 60 games of qualifying at the WSOB, the top six bowlers from the United States were matched against the top six international players in a team competition.

USBC Youth bowlers from the Southern Nevada USBC had the chance to watch the international team featuring Venezuela's Amleto Monacelli, Australia's Jason Belmonte, Finland's Osku Palermaa, Mika Koivuniemi and Kimmo Lehtonen, and Dan MacLelland of Canada take the WSOB Team Competition title.

Jhared Gonzales, Anthony Chavarria, Cerell Cardines, Jeremy Cardines and Josh Garwood were at the at South Point Bowling Center, in Las Vegas, Nev., to watch the matches.

The PBA/USBC Insiders' Tour program gives selected USBC Youth members the opportunity to meet their favorite players on the PBA Tour, attend matches and get a behind-the-scenes look at a PBA event. After the event, the youth bowlers joined the international team on the approach for a group photo.

The Insiders' Tour is a joint program of the PBA and USBC.
