Rounds 4-6 of the finals of the Track Dream Bowl Palace Open brought excitement, close matches and frustration for some.

The quarterfinals saw left-handed Ghislaine van der Tol of the Netherlands, the last remaining woman of the tournament, defeat fellow leftie England's Paul Moor, 447-440.

Then Dominic Barrett of England had a close encouter with Germany's Marco Baade, emerging the victor ,418-399.

The third match had Robert Andersson of Sweden giving a drubbing to Denmark's Thomas Larsen, 449-404, and popular German bowling proprietor Jens Nickel booked his final semi-final spot by defeating Swedish national team coach Tomas Leandersson in a match detailed as a super-senior affair, 413-390.

Robert Andersson continued on his wave of success by taking a huge margin over Barrett, sealing his place in the final with a 451-345 victory. Over on the adjacent lanes, Jens Nickel maybe had a hating of the women's eight point bonus per game as he lost to Ghislaine van der Tol, 432-424.

An almost lackluster performance from both competitors in the final brought few cheers from the spectators. The Dutch girl lost the first game, 194 - 187 but came back from the jaws of defeat with a last burst three-bagger to clinch victory, 201-190 and a total pinfall of 388-384 including handicap.

A well orchestrated presentation ceremony saw the four finalist awarded their prizes and all spoke of their pleasure at such a well-run event.

The 2nd Track Dream Bowl Palace Open will return to Munich at the end of March, 2011.
