Wagner wins PBA East Region Strike Zone Senior Open

POTTSVILLE, Pa. – Kent Wagner of Bradenton, Fla., defeated Sammy Ventura of Syracuse, N.Y., 236-225, to win the Professional Bowlers Association East Region Strike Zone Senior Open at Strike Zone Alleys Sunday.
Wagner, originally from nearby Allentown, Pa., stayed in the northeast visiting family after the conclusion of the PBA Senior Tour. The win was Wagner’s 12th career regional title and earned him $1,500. Ventura, who became a regional champion in August, earned $750 as the runner-up.
Wagner defeated John Chapman of Brantford, Ont., 236-214, and Ventura defeated Gary Shultis of Levittown, N.Y., 234-221, in the semifinal round.
Chapman and Shultis each earned $625 as semifinal round losers.
