Webber men, Wichita women lead in Vegas

HENDERSON, Nev. - The Webber International men and Wichita State women took the lead after six games of qualifying at the 2010 Glenn Carlson Las Vegas Invitational on Tuesday. The event is being live streamed from start to finish on BOWL.com.

Webber totaled 6,467 and leads Wichita State, which is second with 6,364. Fresno State Red sits in third with 6,076.

Fresno State's Greg Geerring leads the individual men's standings with a six-game total of 1,404, an average of 234. Wichita State's Eric Gulbrandson is second with 1,341.

Wichita State holds a slim lead over Central Florida in the women's division. The Shockers totaled 5,918, edging the Knights' 5,909. Pikeville A sits in third at 5,644.

Central Florida's Kristie Petravich had the highest individual six-game total with 1,340, an average of 223.3. Wichita State's Tannya Roumimper was second with 1,263.

The tournament field includes 47 men's teams and 21 women's team, which all will return for three additional games Wednesday morning. The top 16 teams on the men's side and the top eight on the women's side then will advance to the match-play portion of the event. Teams will be seeded into single-elimination Baker matches.

Competition resumes Tuesday at 8 a.m. PST. Live streaming will continue for the duration of the event.
