LAS VEGAS - The Wichita State men and women swept the titles Tuesday at the Collegiate Shoot-Out, a major event on the United States Bowling Congress Collegiate schedule.

The Shockers men finished the event with 11,574, including bonus pins, to easily claim the title by more than 400 pins. Calumet finished second with 11,147, while Pikeville was third with 10,763.

The women's competition was a little closer as it came down to the final game with Wichita State pulling away to finish with a total of 11,127, including bonus pins. Webber International finished second, just 36 pins back, with 11,091. Midland was third with 10,614.

In the men's individual standings, Wisconsin-Whitewater's Nick Kruml earned top honors with a six-game total of 1,290, a 215 average. Ryan Moats of Nebraska was second with 1,278, while Wichita State's Miguel Lopez was third with 1,258.

Tannya Roumimper of Wichita State finished on top of the women's individual standings with a six-game total of 1,321, a 220.17 average. Sam Powell of William Penn was second with 1,314, while Wichita State's Jazreel Tan finished third with 1,211.

The Collegiate Shoot-Out was the first of two major events in Las Vegas this week. The Glenn Carlson Las Vegas Invitational begins Wednesday and will be broadcast live on BowlTV, which is also where archived footage of the Collegiate Shoot-Out can be found.
