PODCAST: Steve Hoskins Discusses His Surprising Return to Pro Bowling

Steve Hoskins

When news broke on the Let's Go Bowling Radio show and on Steve Hoskins's own Facebook page last week that the PBA Hall of Famer was plotting a return to pro competition to bowl the PBA50 Tour this summer, it surprised many who know Hoskins.

Fifteen years have passed since Hoskins last shoed up to bowl a PBA Tour stop, and in interviews he has done in the meantime he expressed little interest in bowling the senior circuit when he became eligible to do so. Until the past couple of months, Hoskins, formerly one of the PBA Tour's most electrifying performers, hardly was bowling at all.

Yet, within a month of turning 50 years old in January, a milestone that makes him eligible to bowl the PBA50 Tour, Hoskins had inked a deal with Track and announced his intent to start a new chapter in his illustrious pro bowling career.

The 10-time PBA Tour champion recently spoke with BJI Editor Gianmarc Manzione about what renewed his interest in pro competition, what it will take for him to acclimate himself to changes the sport has undergone since his pro-tour heyday in the 1990s and early 2000s, and much more.
