2026 USA BOWLING U12 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS - PACIFIC REGION - NEXT-GEN STRIKE SQUAD
U12 BRACKET RESULTS
LAKEVILLE, Minn. – The team representing the Pacific region earned the title in the 12-and-under division at the 2026 USA Bowling National Championships. The best-of-five match finals aired live on Bowling TV – the new 24-hour channel dedicated entirely to bowling – and on BowlTV from Lucky Strike Lakeville Thursday night.
Bowling out of the Pacific region in U12, the team named the Next-Gen Strike Squad defeated The Bowling Stones team out of the South region in a 3-0 sweep (211-173, 214-172, 205-124).
The championship round featured a four-person Baker format with the lead-off bowler bowling the first, fifth and ninth frames, the second bowler bowling the second, sixth and 10th frames, the third bowler bowling Frames 3 and 7, and the fourth bowler bowling Frames 4 and 8.
Bowling for the Next-Gen Strike Squad in the U12 finals were Justin Bloomer, Christopher Godizano Jr., Branson Jones, brothers Colin and Dylan Park, and Zander Saysourivong. The Pacific region team was led by assistant coach Tylon Leung and head coach Peter Ho.
Comprising the South region’s The Bowling Stones team were assistant coach Bobby Johnson, head coach Re-Shaun Jones, and team members Reid Cox, Colton Dean, Titan Jones and Champion Pouncy.
Of note in the U12 finals . . . all 10 competitors used the two-handed method of delivering the bowling ball.
Game 1 of the U12 finals was fairly close just past the halfway point, with Pacific holding an 18-pin advantage after both teams failed to convert single-pin spares in Frame 6. From there, Dylan Park, Bloomer, Saysourivong and Colin Park combined to roll four consecutive strikes to put the match away, 211-173.
Game 2 was very similar to Game 1, as Pacific held a scant 11-pin lead through eight frames. South suffered an open frame in the ninth after a failed conversion of the 3-6-10 and then went spare-strike in the 10th frame for a final score of 172. Once again, Pacific put the match away late, this time with a strike by Saysourivong in the ninth and a double in the 10th by Colin Park to finish with 214.
Unfortunately for the team from the South Region, Game 3 was never really close. South only struck twice in Game 3 and suffered six open frames. Pacific had just one open frame (Frame 3) and put together doubles in Frames 1 and 2 and Frames 5 and 6. That was enough to earn a 205-124 win that sealed the championship for the Next-Gen Strike Squad.
Outside of the Park brothers, the Next-Gen Strike Squad featured four players bowling for the first time in the USA Bowling National Championships. Despite that inexperience, the squad was able to walk away with the title.
Godizano was able to cite a couple reasons for their success.
“First of all, we understand that spares really matter,” Godizano said. “And just practicing every day really helps. We looked forward to that.”
“This team is very talented,” said head coach Ho. “They come from five different bowling centers (in California), but they were able to come together and finish the job. I’m very proud of them for coming together as a team; that’s what you want.”
Assistant coach Leung added his thoughts.
“This team came together on very short notice and didn’t have much time to get ready for this tournament,” he said. “They worked really hard to get to this point. We also want to give a shout out to Daylen (Leung) for being another coach and serving as a ball rep for us.”
Despite not obtaining the result they were hoping for, The Bowling Stones represented the South well and learned some things along the way.
“I couldn’t be prouder of my guys,” said head coach Re-Shaun Jones. “The way that we performed over the two days was amazing. Our team showed heart and we fought. This is something that they will always remember. I kept telling them, ‘Cherish the moment, because you’re not guaranteed to be here.’ Hopefully this makes us stronger for the next time.”
For Pacific, it was an outstanding team effort, with all of the players contributing to the team’s strong finish.
Assistant coach Leung summed up the entire experience.
“This USA Bowling tournament format really encourages teamwork and friendship among many different junior bowlers,” he said. “It’s a great way to promote junior bowling and can help the sport grow.”
In addition to live coverage of the finals, BowlTV also provided live coverage of the qualifying and match play rounds leading up to the finals. For the third consecutive year, scholarship money was made available with more than $120,000 awarded (regional and national) in the U12 and U15 divisions of this year’s event.
The 2026 USA Bowling National Championships featured 16 regions competing in the U12 and U15 age divisions. Each team that competed in this year’s event earned its spot by winning its regional event.
