The University of Nebraska-Omaha men upset top-seed Wichita State University to win the Glenn Carlson Las Vegas Invitational at the South Point Bowling Center on Tuesday.

Wichita State men lead in Vegas
Fresh off a runner-up finish at the Sam's Town Collegiate Shoot Out this weekend, the Wichita State University men found their way into the early lead at the Glenn Carlson Las Vegas Invitational across town at the South Point Bowling Center on Monday.

Wichita State shot 5,810 during team and 2,899 during Baker en route to a grand total of 8,709 and first place atop the 16-team field. Webber International was second with 8,609. Robert Morris University of Illinois (8,555), Lindenwood (8,478) and St. Ambrose (8,129) also cracked the top five.

Wichita State shot 7,167 during team and 4,345 during Baker to establish a grand total of 11,512, which was good enough for first place atop the 40-team field. Lindenwood-Black was second with 11,194. Newman was third at 10,868. Saginaw Valley State (10,644) and Robert Morris University of Illiniois (10,644) finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

Minnesota State-Mankato put up 3,615 during its first five matches and 4,660 during its final five matches en route to 8,275, a 6-2 record and first place atop the five-team field. Wisconsin-Whitewater was second at 5-3 (8,261). The hosts from Valparaiso finished third, going 4-4 and notching 8,103. Adrian (3-5 - 7,500) and Elmhurst (2-6 - 7,922) rounded out the standings.

Wright State-Green shot three of the four highest team scores - 951, 940 and 920 - and remained steady during Baker play to put up a grand total of 7,680, including bonus, which put the Raiders in first place by more than 400 pins ahead of second-place Adrian-A (7,237). Michigan State (7,102), Michigan (6,961) and Davenport (6,949) rounded out the top five.
